Namun, banyak add-ons, plug-ins, atau program aplikasi pihak ketiga yang tidak support atau kompatibel dengan program Office versi 64-bit, khususnya Outlook 2010 dimana sinkronisasi dan interaksi dengan program eksternal  sangatlah mendasar.
Akibatnya beberapa fungsi kemungkinan tidak berjalan atau tidak bekerja ketika diinstal pada sistem dengan versi 64-bit (x64) Office 2010. Jika Anda mengalami hal seperti ini, ada dua opsi untuk solusinya: pertama, Anda minta kepada developer untuk menyediakan  update software yang kompatibel dan support dengan Office 2010 64-bit, atau opsi kedua lakukan downgrade Office 2010 dari 64-bit ke 32-bit.
